Promoter: Netball Queensland, Netball Australia & Suncorp Super

General Public Onsale: On sale now

The Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds return to the court in 2017 with a new look roster and the all new Suncorp Super Netball competition to conquer. The all-Australian league will pit eight teams - including newcomers Sunshine Coast Lightning, GWS Giants and Collingwood Magpies - against netball's five existing elite sides in the biggest and best netball competition on the planet. Join Firebirds stars Gabi Simpson, Romelda Aiken, Gretel Tippett and Caitlyn Nevins as they fire up and lead our back-to-back champions in search of a historic threepeat of grand final successes.

Firebirds Assistant Coach Jenny Brazel said the team were buoyed by what the draw had dished up. “We’re especially excited about playing the Lightning in round 1 – our new home state derby,” Brazel said. “They’ve got an impressive line-up and Noeline Taurua is a very experienced coach with a great record. What she did with the Southern Steel last year was outstanding.”

With four games at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre you will get the chance to see your ‘Birdies’ from a whole new perspective. New competition, new rivalries, new seats, new experiences and a whole new membership structure.

Love the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds, but can't make every game? A Firefan membership gives dedicated fans all of the benefits of a full membership without the match tickets. You'll receive exclusive access to member-only videos and news from the Birdies' inner-sanctum, a 2017 member merchandise pack, access to member-only deals and special offers, plus discounts on match tickets and the Firebirds Gala Dinner.
