The Brisbane Entertainment Centre (BEC) hosts a diverse range of events each year. At the BEC we strive to create a working environment that rewards excellence and provides job satisfaction, enjoyment and opportunities for advancement.  An opportunity currently exists for a results driven Accountant to join our Finance team. This newly created full time position is not your average accounting role! We are a dynamic and exciting business seeking a qualified individual who would like to use their accounting skills within a different environment.

The Accountant role will see you provide high level operational support to the Financial Controller, Business Manager and General Manager. Your day will be diverse and varied due to the nature of our business, but will consist of overseeing all daily accounting activities, including financial reporting, event settlements and reconciliations. You will play a key role in annual budgeting and forecasting and attend to payroll matters as required. You will lead and motivate a small team of individuals, ensuring all deadlines are met and internal and external clients are serviced in a timely and efficient manner. 

To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will be degree qualified and have commenced or completed CPA qualifications. You'll have at least  two years experience in an commercial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role, with past exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. You hold strong analytical skills, have the ability to communicate professionally and are able to adapt quickly to changing environments and deadlines. Prior experience within the hospitality industry or using Dynamics GP would be an advantage. You will be looking to grow and expand your skills within an accounting supervisory role while working within a constantly evolving industry. You will have the flexibility to think outside the square and be willing and able to work occasional event hours on a rotating roster as required.

Casual Cleaners, Presentation Services

Our Presentation Services Team ensure the immaculate presentation of the Centre across all scheduled events. As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for both internal and external clients, working across all areas of the Centre including the Arena, Sports Centre, offices and public areas. Your ability to work as part of a team within a fast paced environment, high level attention to detail and thorough cleaning standards will ensure your success in this role.
