ACCESSIBILITY
Accessible seating at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre is provided to assist persons with physical, intellectual, cognitive, psychiatric, neurological, sensory or medical condition/s that restricts their movement, limits exposure to noise or limits exposure to other persons.
Seating is available in the arena’s main seating bowl including events with a general admission standing floor. Due to varying staging configurations, capacity limits will be in place on the floor for both reserved and general admission events.
It is important at the time of purchasing tickets, to indicate that you require accessible seating so you have a seat allocated that suits your individual requirements.
Our commitment to providing access to patrons with disability includes the issuing of a complimentary ticket to government issued Companion Card holders at the time of booking via the BEC Accessibility Booking Service. The cardholder will be required to provide the details on their valid Companion Card at the time of booking, then present the card in person to staff upon arrival event day to collect their (free) companion ticket.

HIDDEN DISABILITIES SUNFLOWER PROGRAM
ASM Global are proud to partner with Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program and we are honoured to be part of the program at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The Sunflower program is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities.
Guests may choose to wear a lanyard throughout an event to discreetly identify to Brisbane Entertainment Centre team members that they may need extra help, time or guidance. If you need additional assistance Sunflower Lanyards are available for collection from Administration on Level 1.

- Parking – The BEC has accessibility car parking spaces available that are situated in close proximity to the dedicated accessible turnstile entrances. Please ensure your parking permit is clearly displayed on your windscreen and follow the directions of the Car Parking Attendants.

- Cost for parking – Parking charge of $18.00 per visit applies (Card only).
- Rail – Boondall Station (Shorncliffe Line) is the nearest train station to the BEC. In 2020, Queensland Rail completed their Accessibility Upgrade on the station which can be independently accessed with new paths, ramps and lifts, making it easier and safer for all visitors.
- A limited number of wheelchairs are available for loan to assist with patron movement pre and post event. The wheelchairs are available from Administration (located on ground level to the left of the main stairs) and a Front of House team member will coordinate the loan of the wheelchair. Patrons who require the use of a loan wheelchair must engage the assistance of one of their party to collect it, manage the movement and then return it. Wheelchairs are weight rated and the BEC has 120kg, 135kg, 150kg and 250kg models available.
- The main stair entry is centrally located and is the major public entry / exit point on the event day.
- The BEC is equipped with lifts that access all public areas of the Venue. Should you require assistance, please make your way to Administration (located on ground level to the left of the main stairs) where you will be greeted by a Front of House team member who will provide assistance.

- Accessible friendly toilets are available on Level 1, 2 and 3 of the venue.
- Retail concession outlets are located on Level 1 and 2 throughout the venue and majority are wheelchair friendly. Outlets that do not have wheelchair friendly service counters will have team members assigned to assist and take your order. Please note, all catering and merchandise outlets only accept debit/credit cards. (NO CASH)
- Mobility aid charging stations are also available on Level 1 and 2. Our Front of House staff will be able to assist you to their locations.
- First Aid stations are located for the public on Level 2 but if you require medical assistance please alert any team member and our first aid team will come to you.
- Wheelchair/Walker storage is available to patrons who have booked accessible seating in advance and wish to transfer to a seat via the assistance of their companion. Please notify a Front of House team member at the Arena Doors who will provide you with direction or assist in storing your walking aid.
- Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited with the exception of accredited service animals and service animals in training for guests with disabilities.
- Accredited service animals are always welcome inside the venue and at all times must display their companion vest/lead for ease of identification.
- Service animals are to remain on lead at all times including in the seating area of the individual with the disability for the comfort of both patrons and animal.
- Guests may take their service animal outside the venue to relive itself, just alert a Front of House team member who will be available to show you to the nearest outdoor area.
- Water bowls are available for service animals from our Front of House team member at Reception.
- The Brisbane Entertainment Centre promotes a safe and healthy environment for everyone who enters the site.
- Patrons with a medical condition can bring medical supplies from home. Please register your details by contacting us at bec@brisent.com.au. When registering, please provide a valid contact phone number.
- If you are in a powered mobility device, we ask that you turn it off once in your reserved seating allocation if there is no medical reason to leave it on.
Front of House team members at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre have been trained in emergency evacuation procedures. This will ensure the safe evacuation of patrons in the case of an emergency. Please pay careful attention to their instructions to assist in your safe exit from the venue.

Accessible seating is reserved exclusively for guests with accessible needs and their companion. Guests purchasing accessible seating may purchase one (1) accessible seat and one (1) adjacent seat for their companion. Depending upon availability, seats for additional guests will be located as close as possible to the accessible locations.

If I purchased a regular ticket, how can I exchange it for an accessible one?
If you have not made your requirements known at the time of booking, assistance is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Requests made on event days are also subject to availability and if no availability is present, tickets remain subject to the Terms and Conditions of Sale.
If accessibility tickets are sold out, can I buy standard tickets?
We do not restrict anyone with accessibility needs from buying tickets from any area of the arena and we will always endeavour to assist you. However, please be mindful that if you cannot access the standard seating arrangements, the Terms and Conditions of Sale will apply.
Do you have accessible seating on aisles or seats with few to no stairs?
Yes, please contact the BEC accessibility team either via the online enquiry form [link] or email tix@brisent.com.au with your name & contact number. A team member will call to discuss ticket availability and pricing options.
I’m visually impaired, are there seating locations closer to the stage?

Are there drop off locations close to entrances for people with disabilities?
Yes, drop off locations are located close to the entry points at the Venue. Advise the Car Park Attendants on arrival and they will assist in directing you to their location.
What do you mean by standard wheelchair?
A self-propelled mobility device with dimensions – Width 760mm x Depth 1220mm x Height 760mm
I have medical equipment which requires access to power?
Please speak to a Front of House team member in Administration who will assist you. The charging station is a standard 240 volt 10 amp Australian 3 pinned plug. Any specialised equipment that does not meet this standard, or if you need to be connected to power throughout an event, or if you have any other unanswered questions please email the BEC Accessibility Team at tix@brisent.com.au during business hours prior to the event date.
I’m hearing impaired, do you have a hearing loop?
The venue has a hearing loop available, and patrons will need to book this in advance. Some of our events offer an AUSLAN interpreter. For enquiries regarding either of these services, please contact us at tix@brisent.com.au to book.
I have booked my tickets already, but have a Companion Card. How do I get a free ticket?
To be issued with a free carer ticket, you must make it known at the time of booking that you, or the person you are booking for has a Companion Card. A free carer ticket cannot be issued after your booking has been finalised.
I can get out of my wheelchair do you have storage facilities?
Wheelchair storage is available for guests who wish to transfer to a seat from their wheelchair. Please notify a Front of House team member at the Arena Doors who will assist in directing your companion or carer to the nearest storage area. Please have a companion/guest who will be able to assist you with these arrangements.
Are there speed limits in place for mobility scooters?
We ask all guests in powered mobility scooters to please be mindful of their speed when travelling through areas with other pedestrians. All mobility scooters should be set to a slow walking pace in public spaces.
